COVID-19: 35 GHANAIAN RETURNEES FROM KUWAIT TEST POSITIVE AS CASE COUNT HITS 7,881

Out of the two hundred and thirty-one (231) Ghanaian returnees from Kuwait, 35 have tested positive of COVID-19

• There are fifteen (15) severe cases, five (5) in critical condition with two (2) patients on a ventilator. One person has died of the novel coronavirus moving the death toll to 36.



The case count on Ghana's COVID-19 has increased from 7, 768 to 7,881 which is 113 more cases. Recovery has also increased by 301, the Ghana Health Service (GHS), on the latest update on the nation's case count said.

On the 36th death report, the GHS said the patient was a 93-year-old male, who is hypertensive and also had prostate cancer. He was admitted to a hospital in Accra with a complaint of difficulty in breathing and cough. He was then isolated in the emergency room.


Blood samples were taken and tested for COVID-19 on May 26th, 2020. The result proved positive.


The GHS stated, there are fifteen (15) severe cases, five (5) in critical condition with two (2) patients on a ventilator. 60% of the total confirmed case is male whiles 40% are female.


Out of the two hundred and thirty-one (231) Ghanaian returnees from Kuwait, 35 have tested positive of COVID-19 representing a percentage of 15.15%


Of the 15 regions which have recorded cases of novel coronavirus, seven (5) regions recorded new cases during the latest update.



Greater Accra Region recorded 77 new cases, Western Region 16 new cases, Central Region 12 new cases, Western North Region 2 new cases, and Ashanti Region 1 new case.
