According to the latest update on the nations case count of the novel coronavirus on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, the Ghana Health Service (GHS), said, Ghana's case count has increased to 5,127 with 22 deaths and a total of 494 recoveries,
The Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Aboagye gave updates on the nation's case count and case management during a press conference organised by the Ministry of Information on the early hours of Tuesday.
According to Dr. Patrick Aboagye, the Ashanti Region recorded 307 new cases making the total case in the region moved up to 662. Obuasi city alone recorded 272 cases.
Currently, five (5) persons are critically ill, and four thousand, six hundred and eleven (4,611) are active cases.
One hundred and thirty (130) patients are awaiting for their second test result to prove negative discharge.
Tema, Accra, Kpone Katamanso and Klottey- Korle Metropolises, Ablekuma West, Adenta, Ga North, La Nkwatanang, Okine Kwei West, Ashaiman and Ga Central are hot spots in the Greater Accra region.
Dr. Patrick Aboagye also added, 4,611 are active cases and 59% of the total confirmed case are male whiles 41% are female".
Since the last update on Sunday, May 10th, a total of four hundred and twenty seven (427) new confirmed cases have been recorded.
Savannah, Bono East and Ahafo regions currently haven't recorded any cases of COVID-19.
Regions that have reported cases of the coronavirus in the country are Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Central,Western North, Western Region, Volta, Upper East Region, Oti Region, Upper West Region, Northern Region, North East Region, Bono Region.
